This is the NCAA livesports page on GameDayLive.com. On this page you see tweets from NCAA Basketball fans. These are live. If a game is currently on, this page will have comments by fans, many of whom are watching the game. You can join in the conversation too, just login to Twitter. If you are watching your favorite NCAA team, and you want to know what others are thinking, just pull up this page and let it go.
You will see fan commentary from all over the country - even from other countries. NCAA games have a lot of action, so it can be very interesting to see what others think. This is particularly true when there is a controversial call, and during the playoffs (March Madness). If you played sports growing up, then you will probably have some particularly perceptive comments. Which teams will advance? Who is the hot player right now? Who will make the finals? There are many things that a fan can discuss when it comes to live sports! We will be adding more features soon that are created by fans; videos, blogs/forums, Facebook posts, and so on. Stay tuned!
And the chat gets even more interesting, during March Madness! The NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship is a a tournament where each round is a single game; you lose and you go home. There are 68 teams in the tournament, and this determines the national championship of college basketball. The NCAA tournament was created i 1939 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. It was the idea of a coach named Harold Olsen, who coached at Ohio State. It starts in March and usually ends in early April. the first 'official' March Madness celebration was in 1984. There are both a Men's and a Women's division. There are 32 Division I conference champion teams that get an automatic entry, and 36 more teams are chosen (which sometimes triggers controversy). The tournament has been televised since 1959. UCLA, under coach John Wooden, has 11 titles which is the most of any college; most of UCLA's titles were won in consecutive years. This tournament has created terms that are known to every sports fan: March Madness, Sweet Sixteen, Final Four, and the infamous 'Cinderella Team'. Las Vegas oddsmakers enjoy giving the odds of each game, and fans like to make a 'bracket' where they pick all the winners before the tourney starts.
